But while Wag-A-Lag-On can’t be used on the rails anymore, they find a creative solution that helps both Wilson AND the Mayor’s campaign! While he is given a new wagon to pull, he takes Brewster’s advice that “Finishing the job is what’s important, not which wagon you use” and takes out Wag-A-Lag-On in secret….which ends badly after it finally fully collapses from age and the weight of the soil. Wilson struggles to part ways with it as it was his first wagon he ever pulled, and can’t bear to face the fact that it’s seemingly unsalvageable. Wilson picks his little “ Wag-A-Lag-On” to do the job, but it’s unfortunately seen better days it’s rusting and falling apart at the seams.
Wilson is tasked with helping Mayor Pullman and Eddie to help spruce up Roundhouse Park as part of a new campaign called “Beautify Chuggington” by collecting and delivering soil from the Drop and Load Yard. In the case of this episode, Stacey Greenberger ( Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Peg + Cat, the 2019 Clifford the Big Red Dog, and many other prolific projects) presents such a concept with memories of little wagons we’d cart around. A fun idea this one in particular presents is “how can we take a childhood concept and apply it to a railway setting?”. “ When Wilson’s wagon starts to fall apart, he is forced to choose whether he will get a new one or keep using it until the wheels completely fall off.”Ī fun concept we’ve slowly started seeing more this season is taking a lot of more relatable concepts beyond the typical storytelling fare.
